Long Term Care Insurance

Those who require long-term care do not have to necessarily be sick in the traditional way but are not able to carry out basic day to day activities such as dressing, bathing, eating, toileting, continence, transferring from bed to chair and walking.

Although long term care is associated with age it is not a determining factor for who needs it. Studies show that 60 of individuals over the age of 65 require some type of long term care services in their lifetime.

Long term care insurance covers home care, assisted living, adult daycare, respite care, hospice care, nursing home and Alzheimer's facilities. If home care coverage is purchased, long-term care insurance is able to pay for home care more often then not from the first day it is needed.
